**Sand Martins Golf Club – Thursday 20th June**: Our Sales Director, Andy Stradling, took to the greens in support of the Bone Cancer Research Trust, honouring the memory of former junior golf captain, Tom Stead. The event, held at the picturesque Sand Martins Golf Club, featured 18 teams teeing off with a shotgun start at 8:30 am.
What a day it was! Perfect weather, fantastic golf, and most importantly, a tremendous effort in raising awareness and funds for life-saving research into Osteosarcoma. With over 100 participants, including players and volunteers, the charity golf day was a roaring success, raising an impressive £10,000!
Joining Andy on the course was Mark Allwood, CEO of Progressive Legal Solutions. Mark expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “It was an honour to be part of this great day and support such a worthwhile cause! We have an event coming up at the Henley Regatta and have invited Tom’s parents to join us. It’s a chance to thank them and also raise further awareness about Osteosarcoma.”
The day concluded with a delightful sit-down meal, a prize-giving ceremony, and a raffle. To everyone’s surprise, Andy Stradling and his team clinched the victory with an outstanding combined score of 92 points! Reflecting on the win, Andy remarked, “We had no idea we were in contention of winning, we were just playing golf and having fun out on the course. We look forward to defending our title next year!”
Andy’s commitment to this cause extends beyond the golf course, you may remember that he completed a 50K walk in 2022 to raise awareness and funds and has just announced that he will be taking on the 100k continuous march on Saturday 14th September in honour and memory of Tom.
